We only send one on one text to each other, or external contact and also use it for some business related 2FA. However, about a year or so ago, 8x8 (or the government, or whoever???) made it a requirement for us to create a SMS campaign. Now when we create a new user and enable SMS, they get assigned to this campaign and always fail to get assigned. When they fail the assignment, they cannot text anyone other than internal users on 8x8.
Every time we setup a new user, we have to contact support to have them fix the issue. They usually say that the problem is "information did not sync on the back end, so we had to do it manually". After they do their magic on the back end, the user will show up as on the campaign and they are able to text to and from external numbers.
One thing I noticed is that ONLY NEW user are on this campaign. No old users from before the campaign was created are on the campaign and non of them have this issue. Infact, if a user leaves and I just change the username, email, and contact information on the user account without deleting and recreating an account, the changed account does not have the issue.
Is anyone else expericencing this issue? I want to see if there is something that can be fixed because I do not want to have to call into support every time a new user starts.
