Loud Ringing
A common issue is in back offices, warehouses, and others; when a phone is placed out there, it never rings loud enough to be heard over all the noise or at the back of the area. A while back, I posted an article on
Overhead Paging. It hints on the
Algo's ability to be used as a Loud Ring device but does not discuss how to integrate with an existing extension (without using a hunt group).
Call Handling Rule
First, create a NEW call handling rule for the existing extension.
Then, set the forwarding rule to "Selected User" and select the extension assigned to the Algo. Also, and this is the nugget, select "Simultaneously" as the ring pattern. Doing this will ring the extension as well as the Algo at the same time without the need for a hunt group. This will also work even if they do not use WorkD/M/W as you can create the Call Handling Rule from the Admin Console and never use Work.
