  • 1.  400 Bad Request on 8x8 Support pages

    Posted 09-14-2023 21:17

Due to being new to 8x8, I have been scouring the support, application and report pages to discover answers and streamline our systems on a daily basis.

One of my biggest pain points at the moment is this error on 8x8 pages. Unfortunately for me, 8x8 is advising me that it's a 'me' issue and they are unable to assist. However, I ONLY receive this error on 8x8 pages and no other webpage... which to me... points to the one company which has the errors.

Does anyone else routinely get this error?? It's occurring 3-5 times a day for me across Edge, Chrome and Firefox. Hopeful it's not localized to me and 8x8 will take a closer look.

    Bad Request

I get the same message regularly, so regularly that I don't even think and just head straight to clear my cache and start all over again. I've never reported it as we've had issues like this with advisors every so often since the system was installed and all we get told is clear your cache, which does work but its a phaff that shouldn't be necessary. This is the 5th phone system I've admin'd for in this role and its the one that has the most connection issues.

I also find the same issues occur.

I've also been told it's a browser issue not an 8x8 issue, however I access 20 different SaaS platforms monthly and never have any issues like this with any other vendor.

My suspicion is that the local browser storage for the site cache and cookies is not being well maintained in the session controls by the 8x8 developers.

Pretty sure everyone has this problem.  You can either clear your cookies or open support pages in private mode (incognito) on your browser.  Ultimately I believe it's a bug and everyone who has this problem should submit a support ticket.

I'm also new to 8x8 and found this issue from day one of implementation. The engineer pushed it off to my issue but internally I'm the only one that seems to have the issue. No supervisors have reported this.
as others state I head straight to clear cache and cookies or jump to Firefox which seems to have less issues.

Has anyone reported this and been given a ticket reference. I'll gladly report it and reference that ticket. I don't have this issue on anything else.

I logged it as "[8x8 Support] C4714959 | 400 Bad Request Request Header Or Cookie Too Large nginx when using 8x8 website and apps" about 3 weeks ago. I'm adding a note to review this topic so they can see it's not just me.

Looks like they resolved it :)

    8x8 Support Case #: C4714959

Subject: 400 Bad Request Request Header Or Cookie Too Large nginx when using 8x8 website and apps

    Status: In Progress

    Dear Ben Fischer,

This is a known issue and for Quality Management we already deployed a fix and the error should no longer occur. For Customer Experience our development team will not improve the header to accept larger cookies as the application will be end of life by Q4. The support page will be migrated to a new platform next year in spring so for this, please use the following workaround: Open the Support page before VCC CM or use the Support page in another browser until the next platform will be released.

Thank you for understanding and please allow me to apology for any inconveniences caused by this situation.

Quite a different story than I got on my case which was it's a common "browser issue" not an 8x8 issue.

I'll be interested to see how customer experience is merged into Analytics for Contact Centre.
