  • 1.  Warm transfer in web browser

Some users have started using the work browser but are unable to warm transfer
The button is greyed on and says you reached the maximum number of concurrent calls
Do the users that want to use the online app need 2 lines attached to their account or have we just not turned a setting on?

    Hello Anthony!

Whilst we recommend using the 8x8 Work for Desktop app, the web version retains most of the app`s functionality and is a good alternative when users cannot install the desktop app.

The web app does have limitations, such as the lack of built-in call controls for headsets or missing always-on-top pop-ups, but warm transferring issues should not be observed when using the web.

At first glance, there may be 3 situations preventing users from completing a warm transfer on the web version:

    1. the ability to warm transfer requires access to a second phone line; using one Line Appearance Key will reduce the number of phone lines available for the extension rendering warm transfers impossible. If there is only one Line Appearance Key configured for the extension, that extension will only have one phone line available for use and will be unable to use Warm Transfer.
Adding an additional Line Appearance key increases the maximum number of phone lines available to the extension. The additional phone lines are needed to use the Warm Transfer function.

    2. the type of license used is under X2

    3. the number of maximum concurrent calls is currently set to 1 and needs to be enhanced by 8x8 to 2 in the backend (support.8x8.com)
