  • 1.  Disappointment 8x8 Ability to Resolve Issue

    **************** CAUTION ************************

    Do not save any of your contact information on the 8x8 phones in the phone book. 

    Home Button>Directories>Contact Directory store your contacts outside of 8x8 or lose them. 

    If this is done locally on the phone there is no way to recover the information after any type of system-wide update. 

    This includes changing a name of an extension.  Updates to the phone or even a reset of the phone can prompt the loss of data. 

    I have roughly 150 contacts that are missing because of this software issue.

    I post this to try and help the next person save 3 hours of their day trying to call in. 

    After 7 calls into 8x8, I was finally told the honest painful truth "this is unrecoverable." 

    I was put on hold for 2.0 hrs. One guy even did the can you hear me and hang up routine with a 1 ring call back to log into his system. 

    their ability to resolve this issue is very much like Comcast's customer service of trying to wait the customer out so they give up. Very disappointed.

    We have this issue too.

    Are you a migrated customer from "Account Manager" to "X-Series"?
