  • 1.  8x8 LDAP - Directory Server Not Responding

    We are using 8x8 with Polycom E300 deskphones with LDAP for the corperate directory. (default configs from the 8x8 provisioning server)

    The config shows that the LDAP server is setup correctly and points to : dir.corp.address="ldaps://contact-ldap.8x8.com:636

    The corperate directory does work sometimes and allows users to search but roughly only 50% of the time, all other times we receive the error messsage : Directory Server Not Responding.

    When it fails the logs on the Polycom device show this error message : 

    0813140835|ldap |4|00|[ldapConnBind:728] ldap_x_bind_s - rc=0xffffffff <Can't contact LDAP server>
    0813140837|ldap |4|00|[ldapConnBind:728] ldap_x_bind_s - rc=0xffffffff <Can't contact LDAP server>

    Has anyone else had this issue or can someone at 8x8 tell me how to resolve this problem?

    there are multiple factors that can lead to the specified error message; In order to ensure the root cause is identified, this requires troubleshooting as as such I have crated a technical support ticket for you.
