We have a large deployment and have the need for creating some contacts that can appear in our mobile-versions of 8x8. There are thousands of these devices in our stores and they do not have Outlook or access to any shared contact lists from our company. Manually entering them into each device would be possible but impractical.
I would like to have the ability to create/import/maintain lists of outside contacts which can be either Site or Company specific in the "Contact Directory Scope" in admin. For instance, our one division might want a list of their division-specific vendors to appear, but we wouldn't want all of those contacts in the Company-Wide list.
This type of feature has existed in traditional phone systems for decades. Does anyone have a clever way to solve this? If you find this feature useful, can you please also submit feedback on this item within the 8x8 Work app "submit feedback" section so we can gather some momentum on this?
