I know nothing about how headsets work with 8x8.

I'm assuming a USB headset is better with the 8x8 work app as opposed to one plugged into their handset.  I just need to know which models will allow the user to answer a call by pressing a button on the headset.

The users would be walking around or at a copy machine when a call comes in. They want to be able to press a button on their headset and answer the call instead of running back to their desk to pickup the call.  The user doesn't want to use the 8x8 app on their cell phone.

    Hi, WInston:

If you're talking 8x8 Work running on WIndows, any headset that will work with WIndows will work in 8x8. That said, if the users will be walking around, though, forget USB; focus instead on (wireless) Bluetooth. We've had success with the Poly Plantronics Voyager 5200 UC Headsets. If the phone rings, the user at the copier can just tap a button on the earpiece, and is on the call.

Best of luck finding what works for your folks!

    Hi All,

I'm very happy with my Leitner LH670.  It not only works with 8x8 Work (and other PC apps like Zoom, etc.) but it also pairs with my smartphone and my Polycom desktop.  I can wear one headset the whole day and press a button to switch between devices if necessary.  However, most of the time I'm on 8x8 Work.

    Hi Winston,

We use a number of different ones, however, my personal preference is a Sennheiser MBPro2. Works exactly as you would want. Make sure that Inbuilt Call Controls are enabled within the settings on 8x8 Work. Also make sure that your users download EPOS - this allows any upgrades to be done to both the headset and dongle. Last thing - always make sure that users have a dongle connected direct to a machine, rather than into a dock - will save you a huge amount of grief.

    Regards, Ian

We use Poly Savi 8245 and 8240 - both work well when combined with the 8x8 work app on a windows 10/11 pc.

We used Polycom W740 headsets for years, but after an update to the 8x8 work app about a year ago which changed the plantronics hub integration it caused them to stop working.

I would recommend the Savi 8240/8245, but whatever you choose I'd recommend a recent model to guarantee compatibility. There is a compatibility list that 8x8 published, but I can't seem to find it now.
