When an administrator removes someone from an 8x8 Work chat room, the platform publicly posts wording such as:
"AQ revoked full access from RB."
This wording creates a serious workplace communication problem. "Revoked" can imply punishment, misconduct, loss of trust, or disciplinary action, even when the administrator is simply making a routine change to team membership.
This is especially problematic in healthcare, legal, education, human-resources, and other professional environments where staff transitions must be handled discreetly and respectfully.
Please provide one or more of the following:
- An administrator option to suppress membership-change system messages.
- An option to configure these messages by room.
- Neutral replacement wording, such as:
- "Team membership was updated."
- "Ryan Bowers was removed from this team."
- "Ryan Bowers's access to this room was updated."
The current message is not merely unfriendly; it inaccurately frames a routine administrative action as a punitive one.
8x8 Support has confirmed that this notification currently cannot be disabled or customized. I am requesting that this be formally reviewed by the product team.
