 Ring Groups and the DND setting

Hi folks, 

After looking through the the online guides. I still haven't found the answer. Wondering if anyone in the community has encountered this: 

So I have 4 ring groups set up and every time the Account "Owner"/  Master Account user sets their status  to DND ( Do Not Disturb) it forces all the other ring groups to the Do Not Disturb status too.

Including...
 Main Line  
Customer Support 
Sales Support 

Would there be a setting in the Admin panel to  have the Ring Groups ignore  the DND setting of this one user? 
Basically We want the Master Account user to be able to go DND during Webinars and Virtual meetings  but still allow customer calls to come in through the other ring groups.


Any guidance on the topic would be appreciated.

How many members are in each ring group? Are other members not in DND status with the account holder is?

Hi @Jessica Bracken 

  • There are about 3-4 people per ring group
  • Yes the other members were in available status  when the main account holder/user switches to DND, casing all the ring groups to follow DND

When I place myself into DND it doesn't affect the other ring groups. There are two ring groups setup ( I don't know if they are defaults or were created by  our admin) 

  • Main Line incoming
  • All Phones 
I am hoping to get these two ring groups to not follow the status of that one user

I think this article might provide some answers. If you've tested to see that no calls can get through when the admin profile is set to DND although all other members are active, that would be an issue for Support to investigate. The Ring Groups will display DND if the owner sets their status to DND, but calls should still be going through.
