 For the love... I just need to add a credit card to the Shop checkout so I can buy some phones. HOW?

It's taking an obscenely long time to get results from support. I simply need to buy some phones and licenses but there is no payment method at checkout. Once upon a time there was an old credit card number in there, but it has disappeared. 
Tier 1 Billing support finally chimed in and told me I have to add a credit card in Communities... What does that even mean?
Any help is appreciated.

Here's the info I have so far from Billing Support:

"I hope you are well. I would like to apologize for the miscommunication from my end. I reached out to our engineers, and this is what they said:""We made some enhancements in January so that any customer can place self-service orders using a CC even if their primary payment method is not a credit card. They will use the CC to place their SS order, it will not change how their recurring bills are processed" Also, I asked how the customer can change/switch the credit card at the checkout? They said:"They cannot add a new card during checkout. They would need to add the card through Communities first and then they will be able to pick between the active cards on their account."

Hi John,

Try logging into My 8x8 to update your payment information. You can get there by going to login.8x8.com and then choosing My 8x8 at the bottom of the screen.

From there, you're presented to the main portal page. At the top choose Billing > Payment Methods.



Then add a payment method at the bottom of the screen. From there you should be able to buy items from the Shop page.

How did you setup the ability to order phones via the site?  They keep making me go through a rep.

@Steve Mullenix to setup phone ordering, you'll need to have "My8x8" privileges assigned to your account. Here's the support article that explains how this is done.

Unable to Access Billing Tabs in 8x8 Support Portal

As a test, I used the above mentioned instructions to confirm this does work. Give this a try and let us know how it goes.​

I have the billing tab, but if I view the phones on the site I don't get an option to buy directly and have to email a rep.  I'd love to be able to bypass that and order myself.

Scroll down a little further on the knowledge base article and you’ll see instructions for assigning My8x8 privileges to purchase from the portal.

Keep in mind that administrative privileges are needed to perform this function.
