Ian thank you for raising this;
the main reason is because this conforms to how other phones do this by default and this is how we`ve always had it in 8x8 historically speaking.
We do hear what the opportunity is here and would point out that for the long term, we plan on having a toggle in the Admin Console UI that allows admins to choose between the transfer types.
Like any other such improvement, this is subject to prioritizing.
In the meantime the BLF transfer mode for individual MAC addresses can be changed manually by our professional services team.
By the end of next quarter, we're planning on having customer-level overrides that our professional services team will be able to
apply to customer accounts so that individual MAC configs will no longer need to be edited manually

Subject: Provisioning Templates for yealink
I would love to know the reason behind the provisioning templates for Yealink phones coming onto the device with the transfer feature defaulted to "Blind"? I do not know of ANY organisation that allows calls to be transferred blindly to users - not ONE. I did raise this a while ago, but was told that it would be a "custom" configuration - not quite understanding this. I am sure that if we did a poll on here, there would be very few engineers/installers/re-sellers/partners would say "Yes, please can we transfer blindly".
Thoughts, please Community.
