 Deleted voicemails reappearing in users' voicemail tab

Greetings,

On two separate occasions now users in my office have been complaining that voicemails of theirs that they have previously deleted are reappearing in their voicemail tab. The most recent of these incidents occurred just four days ago (October 22, 2021). After scouring the 8x8 knowledge base and forums for an explanation to no avail I decided to present this issue to the forums. If a knowledgeable user or 8x8 team member could reach out and help me make sense of this, my team and I would greatly appreciate it.

hi Warren,

Part of the 8x8 high availability infrastructure is that all customer phone systems run both an Active and  Backup.  In the event that something becomes a problem on the ACTIVE system, an immediate failover to the BACKUP takes place.  In some cases the data on the BACKUP may not be completely in sync.

So, if there was a switch to the backup shortly after those messages were deleted, the BACKUP version of the phone system may not have been updated yet.

I'm offering this as ONE possible explanation for what you're experiencing.
